FOX TV says eating red meat can seriously increase your risk of heart disease. It also increases risk of cancer and most other chronic illnesses. See the fist video on my BLOG’s VIDEO TAB on the CDC study and what it found out. Is white meat any better? Some studies say NO! It is 85% the fat of red meat. It contains the same cancer causing items as red meat. In light of the overwhelming studies on the health benefits of a vegetarian and vegan diet and the drastic increase in all illnesses in our country … I CHOOSE A VEGETARIAN DIET. What do you choose?

I disagree with your conclusions. It is really to generalise too much from available scientific findings. Sure some carcinogens can be formed during frying through the Maillard reactions but that is true for all browning. Compare toasted bread where you also have acrylamid formed. If you include processed meat I agree that salt and nitrate can be harmful. But I assume you are aware of the high nitrate content in green leafy vegetables. Unfortunately we are stupid enough to recirculate the nitrate in the saliva to give the bugs in the mouth an opportunity to convert it to nitrite that we swallow. We get more nitrite from vegetables than from meat. And nitrite can form nitrosamines that are carcinogens. So life is not that simple. But I respect vegetarians that use the moral argument of not killing or mistreating animals, the latter that is all too common.

I feel the scientific data ios overwhelming in favor of a vegan diet. The CDC study concludes that it prevents 16 of the top 16 causes of American death. Only accidents was not significantly improved. They concluded that it also reversed many of the diseases. I have seen MS patients change their life. I have a friend that had a brother dying og cancer, no chance to live. He switched to a vegan diet and the cancer disappeared. I also strongly believe we all have to make our own decisions. So eating meat is a personal decision just like smoking.
