The Physicians Committee for Responsible Medicine (PCRM) says that fish oil found in fish oil pills may increase the risk of men’s prostate cancer. This was a large study done by the Journal of the National Cancer Institute. This is a good example of how we humans try to build pills that provide a benefit like Omega 3 but the pill is totally different from the natural vitamin. My advice is get your vitamins from nature, it has a lot more experience providing what we need than man does.

The Physicians Committee for Responsible Medicine (PCRM) published a study that shows the increased consumption of red meat increases the risk of diabetes. The study was conducted by the American Medical Association. Decreasing red meat intake lowered weight gain and lowered the risk of diabetes. It’s not just sugar that raises your risk of diabetes! Also remember the so called “White Meat” is about 85% the same fat as red meat. Eating a diet of increased white meat may not be the solution either.

The following is breaking news from Physicians Committee for Responsible Medicine (PCRM) and is a most read for everyone:

Eggs Harmful to Health

Eggs increase the risk for heart disease and diabetes, according to a new meta-analysis published in Atherosclerosis. Researchers reviewed 14 studies and found that those who consumed the most eggs had a 19 and 68 percent increased risk for developing cardiovascular disease and diabetes, respectively, compared with those who ate the fewest eggs. For those who already had diabetes, the risk for developing heart disease from eating the most eggs jumped to 83 percent.

A new study published by Physicians Committee for Responsible Medicine (PCRM) says low fat milk does not prevent obesity in children. Milk is not good for anyone (see my BLOGs on milk) but people love to think low fat, low sugar, low everything is better for us. We can just eat a ton of it and it will somehow be OK. The so called diet sodas have not stopped obesity in this country or diabetes. Low fat milk won’t either. These are marketing labels to get your dollars and make you believe in false promises. BEWARE!

The Physicians Committee for Responsible Medicine (PCRM) says that a vegetarian diet can help guard against cancers. The new study was done by the American Association for Cancer Research. 69,120 people participated in the study. Beyond the reduction of cancer in general, the study found specific reductions in the risk of gastrointestinal cancers (stomach, colon, pancreas, etc.) and female-specific cancers (breast, uterine, ovarian, etc.). Eat your vegetables, they really are good for you and can help prevent many diseases.

The physicians Committee for Responsible medicine (PCRM) ran an article on diary causing acne. This new study shows that dairy and sugar are linked to skin problems. So if you want clear skin, you may want to avoid these products in your foods. It was previously thought that oily foods caused it but there is little evidence to prove this. It was also believed that acne was a genetic condition. We now know that genetic really means epigenetic and can be caused by our environment (diet, stress, thinking, etc). A study of twins with identical genetics) showed one twin could get acne while the other did not. Epigenetics in twins is not the same since each twin lives there own life-style.
