Americans seem to be addicted on everything. People still smoke, they are also addicted to sugars, fast food, fried foods, fats, etc. All of which are bad for us and we know it. So why do we still do it? I think our brains have an incredible ability to stay alive. We typically don’t think we are going to die until we have a disease. Young people never think about mortality, nor should they. We all believe we are immortal at least for the near future. This is why people smoke or eat poorly. We don’t really believe it will affect us. If it does down the road, science will have a cure for it. I have news for you … THERE ARE NO CURES BEING DEVELOPED! A cure to cancer, heart disease, Parkinson, Alzheimer’s, etc. would mean a loss of billions to the drug industry. So it is very unlikely any cures will be discovered soon. They would love a pill that will keep you alive but not cure the disease.

It would seem we don’t really care about our health or at least don’t think about it until it is too late. It is sad since so much suffering and death could be avoided with simple life-style changes.

Caffeine appears to help symptoms of the disease while diary and animal fat seems to make it worse. Dr. Greger says Plant based diet, especially vegan diet helps by increasing fiber and reduced animal protein diet. If only we could get scientists to do an exhaustive study of the benefits of a vegan diet, we would see conclusively that it helps prevent many diseases and may actually reverse the disease in those already inflicted. The drug companies won’t allow this since they are the main employer of research scientists. Imagine the money lost if we could cure ourselves on diet only and not the billion dollar drug industry.

Why are we sick?

The “Food Matters” film I mentioned yesterday says “25% of what we eat keeps us well and 75% keeps our doctors and the drug industry well. We are a nation of malnutrition and on top of that we are poisoning ourselves. Our bodies are incredible machines and are capable of healing us but we have not given them any of the resources needed to fix ourselves. We need real nutrition. When our bodies get it, they heal themselves. It is not cancer or heart disease or MS or Parkinson’s or Alzheimer’s or any other disease that is important; it is a strong healthy immune system! If you have it, you will be healthy. If you don’t have it, you will be sick. Eat what your body needs to be strong and healthy, not man-made junk that will only lead to illness. If you owned a Ferrari automobile, you would be very careful which fuel you put in it. Putting crap fuel will lead to a sick or destroyed engine. Why then do we put crap into our bodies and then wonder why we get sick?

We hear a lot about omega-3 being a good source of fat but it may also protect us from Parkinson’s Disease. This study was done by Université Laval in Canada, researchers published in the online edition of the FASEB Journal, the journal of the Federation of American Societies for Experimental Biology. When mice were fed Omega-3, they were immune from the affects of MPCP, a compound that causes similar damage to the brain as Parkinson’s. Again we see certain foods protecting us and others causing chronic illness. Eat well, eat healthy!

A new research study shows Nitrates and Nitrites May Cause Alzheimer’s, Diabetes and Parkinson’s Disease. The Kevin Trudeau radio show quotes Suzanne de la Monte, MD, MPH, of Rhode Island Hospital, who did a study that links fertilizers in food to the above diseases. I hear people all the time saying “I don’t like organic foods”. It is so strange for me since organic simply imply no fertilizers. Regular foods have fertilizers and pesticides added. I once told someone who was complaining about organic foods to take them into the garage and sprinkle some fertilizer on it. Your choice!

In this final look at Dr Grgor’s critical video on health, we look at Parkinson’s Disease. This is near and dear to my heart since my dad died of it. Studies show that neuro-toxins from pesticides get consumed by us in dairy products. They are very small amounts and were thought to be safe. Now we believe that they may be accumulating in the brain over long periods of time. Parkinson’s patients have these toxins in their brains.
