This is a video on my Video Tab. Dr Joel Fuhrman Talks about Vegan Diets to Cure Diseases. It is a powerful message about diet and disease. Epigenetics allow each cell in our body to link with the external environment. The influences are diet, hormones, epigenetics from other cells, how we think, and stress. These influences can change how a cell does it’s work. Some of these changes will make us healthy an strong while others will make us sick.

Dr Joel Fuhrman suggests “The longer your waistline, the shorter your Lifeline.” Obesity is a national crises and it is a primary cause in the accelerating area of chronic illness. Diets, diet companies, surgery and drugs won’t fix the problem! They are designed to keep bringing you back and paying more but never quite getting you fat-free for life. It turns out you can do it on your own for next to nothing. Eat mostly raw fruits and vegetables, feel full and watch your waistline decrease and your lifeline increase.

Dr Joel Fuhrman suggests that parents that feed their children foods low in nutrients are enabling “slow destruction of their child’s genetic potential.” In light of what we know about epigenetics, poor, nutrient empty foods are switching the wrong genes On and Off. This may be the most abusive thing loving parents can do. They are making their children sicker at earlier ages. You wouldn’t allow your child to do drugs, smoke a cigarette, drive a car, drink alcohol or have sex at an early age but allowing them the wrong foods can be even more deadly! If you are concerned about your children or grandchildren’s well being, start with what goes into their mouths.

Reading Joel Fuhrman’s book, Eat to Live, I see yet another dedicated person that is not only trying to help people but actually succeeding. Like Dean Ornish, he has helped thousands of people lose weight and become healthier. He also advocates a diet primarily based on fruits and vegetables in a raw state. Dr Fuhrman puts forward a health formula: H=N/C.
H stands for health, N for nutrients and C for calories. The higher the ratio of nutrients to calories, the healthier we are. Conversely the lower the number, the sicker we can be. Are you eating nutrient rich foods or empty calories that are addicting but will cause you illness and suffering.

A study by Dr Joel Fuhrman shows the following disturbing facts:

a. There is a relationship between animal protein and heart disease

b. Animal protein’s effect on cholesterol may be significant

c. Many people who cut out some meat do NOT see the drop in cholesterol; those that cut out all animal protein see a significant drop in cholesterol

d. Consumption of chicken and fish, not just red meat, is linked to colon cancer

e. Those that eat beans, peas and lentils at least twice a week see a 50% drop in the risk of getting cancer

f. Chicken has about the same amount of cholesterol as beef

g. The risk of stomach cancer rises by 15% to 38% for consumption of processed meats over 1 ounce per day

h. Dr. Fuhrman’s advice, “The best bet for overall health is significantly limit or eliminated all types of meat—red and white.”
