Dr Greger says since we humans are not really carnivores we have evolved from plant-eating apes and have learned to produce all the cholesterol we need. We also can produce inflammation as needed (cut). Cats are carnivores and do not produce inflammation or cholesterol on their own but get it from their food, namely meat. If we eat animal products we get excessive cholesterol and the stuff that produces inflammation. Chicken and eggs are NOT safe. They produce inflammation and cholesterol in us. Inflammation can lead to cancer and cholesterol can lead to heart disease. The only way to completely avoid these excessive intakes is a strict vegan diet. Watch this important video.

Dr Greger’s annual report reviews last years top 16 causes of death and how diet can significantly change this. This year he discusses why we only see medical advances that costs money! Dr. Greger says eating a teaspoon of flax-seed a day can lower breast cancer risks. Antibiotics will lower your body’s ability to use the plant based fiber. So if you are eating correctly but are on a lot of antibiotics, you may not be getting the full benefits! sesame seeds may work as well as the flaxseed. I wouldn’t try to eat this way as a formula for each disease known. Rather eat a wide variety of fruits, vegetables, nuts and seeds.

Dr. Greger says “Tumors use meat to grow. He also says, “Cancer may use a molecule found in animal products to trick our immune system into feeding it with inflammation.”. Tumors trick our immune system by feeding it inflammation. This inflammation allows the cancer to grow faster. Stop eating animal protein and starve the tumors of what they need to survive.

Today is the Mayan day that is supposed to change life on Earth. Maybe more people will move away from animal protein and that will cause our massive number of hospitals and medical centers to close. Our tax dollars saved in healthcare would be massive! HERE IS TO SOME GOOD CHANGE…

Dr Greger is back with a video on the “changing recommendations on protein intake.” Remember protein can be a toxin to our body in large amounts. We do need protein but not as much as most Americans eat. Also remember protein is NOT synonymous with meat! Every living cell, plant based or animal based or single cell organisms, are made of protein. Vegans eat no animal protein but get plenty of protein to stay healthy. Too much protein can over tax your system and cause disease.

Dr Greger says by eating meat protein we get building blocks that closely resemble the blocks of our body (proteins). Our body can EASILY build from these and in fact causes a rapid growth from them. This growth can be in the form of tumors causing cancer. Plant protein doesn’t much resemble our body blocks so it is harder to build from it. It must be first disassembled and then reassembled into a compatible format. This takes time and stimulates more normal growth. Causing less tumors and cancer. Your liver will thank you for less animal protein since it doesn’t have to work as hard to get rid of it.

Studies have been done comparing high protein eaters with lower protein eaters and no significant difference in IGF 1 levels were detected. But when they broke out the types of protein, animal vs. plant, they found animal protein raised IGF 1 levels while plant protein lowered the levels. Dr Greger says getting high levels of IGF 1 tells our livers to start building. Unfortunately tumors are the result. We don’t really want excessive growth (as adults). We want to maintain our growth. Eating meat will increase these growth hormones and eating plants will decrease the levels. Choose wisely.

Yesterday Dr. Greger spoke about IGF1 and IGF1 Binding protein. Today he speaks about measuring these two substances in our blood. What they found is that eating lower levels of plant based diet allows IGF1 (Insulin-Like Growth Factor) to increase in our bodies. Higher levels of IGF1 relate directly to cancer growth. The body tries to flush out this IGF1 by using a protein called IGF1 Binding protein. At high IGF1 levels, there is only so much our body can do. Changing your diet to more of a plant based diet, causes IGF1 levels to drastically lower. This eliminates the chance of cancer drastically. Your choice! Eat your veggies and fight cancer or ignore your veggies and live with cancer.
