If you are still eating whatever you want and thinking it won’t affect me! Think again. America is a nation of sick people. More so than anywhere else. Our diets are the poorest in the world. We are told we have great diets because we have food rich in protein (animal protein). Protein is a toxin to the body. Our bodies need some protein but too much causes problems. People eating a diet rich in animal protein (meat, eggs, milk and cheese) with little or no plant protein will get sick. I have posted many videos on this BLOG from top scientists talking about this problem. Watch these videos at this link! Make a change, any change. Even if you can’t give up meat altogether, cut back on it and eat more fresh organic vegetables. Do NOT think that white meat is safe. The so called “White Meat” is about 80% of the fat of red meat and has the same problems in our bodies. Pork is NOT white meat, it is red meat!

Plant Vs. Animal Protein and Disease

Epigenetics

Another study showed that protein causes cells to reproduce quicker and acts as a carcinogen causing cancer. The logical question is “Does it matter which type of protein animal vs. plant? The answer was astonishing! Only animal protein caused the negative affects. Plant protein had NO negative affects on the cells. I believe the reason is that animal protein is so close to our DNA and epigenetic make-up that it affects us in different ways than plant protein can. If you have totally different DNA then epigenetic effects may not find the proper gene and have no effect. If your DNA is similar (All mammals are very similar) then the genes are found but they may have an adverse effect if they are triggered. Remember diet, stress, exercise and way of thinking (positive vs negative) can all cause epigenetic changes in our bodies. What are your genes doing?

Dr Greger is back with a video on the “changing recommendations on protein intake.” Remember protein can be a toxin to our body in large amounts. We do need protein but not as much as most Americans eat. Also remember protein is NOT synonymous with meat! Every living cell, plant based or animal based or single cell organisms, are made of protein. Vegans eat no animal protein but get plenty of protein to stay healthy. Too much protein can over tax your system and cause disease.
