An artist will tell you how important colors are. Blending them together will yield beautiful and sometimes unusual colors. Our bodies need nutrients that are blended together to provide coverage for different situations. A healthy body is one that receives a variety of nutrients that allow the body to do its work and remain healthy. These different nutrients come from plant life of different colors. You should be eating a wide variety of colors in your plant food, Here is a list of colors and what they help do for our bodies. There are some foods in each category but this is not an exhaustive list. Explore and try different foods in each color group.

Juicing Vegetables on Facebook says:

  1. White – Strengthens our immune system – garlic & cauliflower
  2. Green – detoxified – broccoli, spinach, beans  & green apples
  3. Red – Improves heart and blood system – tomatoes, strawberries, & raspberries
  4. Yellow – Fortifies the skins elasticity – bananas & lemons
  5. Orange – Prevents cancers – pumpkin & oranges
  6. Purple – Increases longevity – eggplant

Imagine if you ate from this group of plant foods each day. You would have a strong immune system that could resist colds and other diseases, detox your body so it would be healthier, improve your blood flow that provides oxygen to every cell, have younger looking more elastic skin, prevent cancer and increase your life. Eat well, live long and enjoy a healthy life …

Here is a BLOG on juicing vs. blending. They talk about frozen vs. fresh vegetables as an alternative. They also talk about a juice fast. This is not a real fast (water only) but one that is loaded with nutrients. These fasts cleanse the body of toxins and oxidants. These get stored in our body from bad food and non organic foods. We have already talked about the benefits of juicing (lose weight, cleanse, more strength, awareness and energy). If you juice don’t go back and have a huge meal, this defeats the purpose. Keep solid meals health and small. Eat more often but smaller meals.

Yesterday I spoke of juicing. There is another BLOGger that talks about their favorite green juice recipe. Juicing will help you lose weight, feel more alert and alive. It is healthy because of all the different nutrients you are consuming. Do it fresh just before you drink it to preserve the most nutrients. Buy your fruit and vegetables organic. A good juicer produces no mess in the kitchen and is easy to clean up. If you have your own organic garden, dump the left over pulp in the garden.

We started juicing yesterday. We bought a Breville and made our first juice from apples, celery, carrots and ginger. It was delicious. You get about 70% of the vitamins, minerals and nutrients from the food by juicing. So why not just eat the food whole? Mainly you can’t eat 2 apples, 2 stalks of celery and carrots and a chunk of ginger at one sitting. So you consume more but get 70%. Overall it is more nutrients than you normally would get. Juicing should use organic fruits and vegetables. Look at recipes and find those that use both fruits and vegetables. Juicing will help you lose weight, feel more alive and energetic and provide your body with the nutrients it needs to stay healthy.
