Egg Marketing Beware!

The American Egg Board is an US government group that markets on behalf of the egg industry. Dr Greger talks about how they can not say good for you, healthy or nutritious. You can say eggs are nutrient dense. Our laws are so messed up. The US DA told the egg industry you can say eggs are a diet food. Eggs are very heavy in saturated fat and have been linked to heart decease and certain forms of cancer. Why do we still eat them? HABIT! They are not even allowed to say they are SAFE since so many Americans get salmonella from eggs.

This is a MUST watch video if you are an egg eater. Even a small number of eggs a month can increase your cholesterol and satiated fat way above normal. Why should we avoid eggs at all cost?

  1. Saturated fat leads to heart decease and obesity
  2. Unsafe from salmonella which causes food posioning
  3. Cholesterol is high leading to heart desease
  4. Linked to many types of cancer like breast cancer

Legal Side of Salmonella

The legal firm of Marler Clark states on their website that there are 1.4 million cases of salmonella poisoning each year and 95% of these are food related! 31% of all food related deaths are due to salmonella. They also state:

“Salmonella infection occurs when the bacteria are ingested, typically from food derived from infected food-animals, but it can also occur by ingesting the feces of an infected animal or person. Food sources include raw or undercooked eggs/egg products, raw milk or raw milk products, contaminated water, meat and meat products, and poultry. Raw fruits and vegetables contaminated during slicing have been implicated in several salmonella outbreaks.”

Vegans have little worry since they do not eat animal related products and can’t contaminate their vegetables from a cutting board used to cut meat. You do have to be careful when eating out.
