We have talked about the dangers of sugar in this BLOG often. Dr. Robert H. Lustig, MD, UCSF Professor of Pediatrics in the Division of Endocrinology talks about sugar . He says the average American weighs 25 lbs more today than 25 years ago. He says our genetics haven’t changed in last 25 years but our environment has (epigenetics)! We used to believe weight is simply a fact of calories in and calories burnt. We actually have an epidemic of obese 6 month olds. How can that be? The fact is we are all eating more calories per day. We are actually eating this in carbohydrates. Leptin is a hormone that fat cells use to tell the body don’t eat more. Why is our leptons not working. Watch this important video on why we are getting fatter.
