Man Made says adding almonds to any meal helps lower the overall Glycemic Index (GI) of your meal. The lower the GI the more healthy because sugars are assimilated slower and the risk of diabetes is less. I enjoy a small handful of almonds for a morning or afternoon snack. They curb your appetite, lessen your urges for snacks and are very healthy for you. Be sure you buy unsalted raw or unsalted roasted almonds. Eating sugar-coated almonds defeats the purpose all together.
