The Health Living Magazine talks about diabetes as being caused by epigenetics but also triggering other epigenetic actions. Diabetes is a complex disease but it now appears it is related to our environment (diet, thought and beliefs). Epigenetics is far too complicated for us to totally understand or appreciate but some combination of epigenetic triggers can cause diabetes. Once the disease takes hold, it then triggers others epigenetic actions. Scientists believe that the key to this disease and others is in the intersection between the environment and the genes.

Out of curiosity, where do you get the idea that epigenetics can be affected by our thoughts and beliefs?

See Work by Dr Bruce Lipton on how our mind can trigger epigenetic reactions. One video is http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Y-Hh7b3Nxxc

Thanks, I’ll check it out. I’m also interested in published research, if you’ve got any to share!

Just search on Dr Bruce Lipton Research and you should find a lot. He publishes a lot and is considered on top of his field.

Here is a link to his website that talks about 2 major scientific papers he has published http://thelivingmatrixmovie.com/bruce-lipton

Actually, could you kindly give me the journal references? I don’t see any on that site or in his video.

Right. Those are just magazines–second-hand accounts. But I’m hoping for actual research–if you’ve got any on the effects of belief on epigenetics, I’d love to take a look! Research journal articles are what I’m hoping for.

Do research on Dr Bruce Lipton, he has the most experience in this area and has changed the mind of most epigeneticists.

I’ve looked for research by Bruce Lipton on epigenetics, and he hasn’t published any. He has videos and a book, but his last paper in a scientific journal appeared in 1992.
Look, I was willing to entertain your claim that epigenetics could be affected by thoughts and belief, but I can’t escape the feeling that you’ve given me the run-around. If you didn’t have proof of your claim, why not just be up-front about it?
Also, you’ve now said that Lipton has “changed the mind of most epigeneticists.” Without publishing research? And where are the references to Lipton in scientific studies of epigenetics? I feel like you’ve lied to me. Please tell me you can back up your claim.

Look I am not about publishing in the scientific community. I am a curator. I bring what is being said to the public so they can do their own research and be informed. There was a lot of non scientific publishing about dangers of tobacco before the scientists got on board. Epigenetics is new and I firmly believe it is influenced by diet, mind and stress. I have seen many cancer patients that believe and overcome their cancer. I also believe in Bruce and what he says. Maybe you should ask him about scientific papers on this subject since it is his expertise.
