This video discusses the genetics of addiction. Some of us are resilient to addiction and some of us are easy victims of it. Would we be a better race if we were all resilient? Not really because some of the people who get addicted learn to cure them. They not only pass on their ease of addiction but their way of overcoming it to their children. This is what epigenetics is all about. It is not the addictions, the illnesses or the deaths but the fight to overcome conditions in our environment that are important. When we do this we pass on to future generations this knowledge as epigenetics. The group as a whole improves. Genetics and epigenetics are not about the individual but the society.
