I have been studying epigenetics for a while now. It is a science of how our genes are turned ON or OFF. It turns out we don’t have good or bad genes. In fact all humans have 99.9% the same genes. So why do some people get cancer and others don’t? Identical twins with 100% the same DNA can have one get cancer while the other does not. It turns out this happens via epigenetics (literally it means above genetics). Epigentetics are proteins and Amino Acids that either end up turning a gene ON or OFF.

This can have good or bad effects on us as a human. Stress is one of many things we humans have to deal with on a daily basis. It causes our epigenetics to turn on some genes and turn off others. The combination can cause bad things to happen like heart disease or cancer. Stress can be lowered via meditation, exercise, eating a healthy diet full of fruits and vegetables and having a positive outlook on life. Our “Positive Thinking” category deals with this topic.
