Or vegetable for that matter. I love all kinds of fruit and vegetables. Fruit is sweet and juicy and raises our blood sugar slowly not quickly like cakes and candy or cereals. It is the perfect way to start a day off. I try to eat a variety of fruits. Different colors and different tastes are a great experience. Vegetables I like “al dente”, slightly crispy. Vegetables also taste good raw or slightly cooked. Don’t overcook them! That will take out all the nutrients and make them feel soft and soggy in our mouths. Buy organic and enjoy good food. It will keep you strong and healthy.

I eat oatmeal most mornings. I buy a brand with no added salts or sugars and high in natural fiber. My oatmeal looks like a bowl of assorted fruits with some oatmeal. The fruit and the oatmeal are high in fiber. Varying the fruit gives you a variety of nutrients. The fruit is a raw source of plant-based food. I enjoy many fruits & nuts with my oatmeal including: berries, oranges, apples, bananas, pears, kiwis and nuts. Start your day with a kick-start that is low in sugar and high in fiber.

Some commercial products taught that they give you a serving of vegetables. The subliminal message is that you don’t need to eat horrible veggies you can get them in their product that tastes good. Don’t believe it! There is NO substitute for real fresh organic vegetables! Eat them as often as you can. Eat them raw or learn how to cook them so they don’t lose their nutrients and still taste great. Every culture has great vegetable dishes. Learn which you enjoy and make them. Fruits & vegetables are the key to health, eat them often. Don’t be misled by commercials that promise fruits or vegetables in their unhealthy products.
