Your Thoughts can Become Reality

Our thoughts often cause reality to happen. People that tend to be negative attract other negative people and they tend to only see negative things. Positive people attract positive people and see the positive side. The Beyond Physical BLOG deals with this. Make a point to change your thoughts to positive ones. Among other things negative thought can cause stress. Stress can cause all types of illness. Remember a basic law: If you can master your thoughts, you can change your reality!

Sickness is America’s most Profitable Business!

The sickness business is booming. Gross revenues look like annual budgets of medium size countries. Profits are up. Just stop and think about the drug companies. Their products have horrible side effects yet they still spend millions to advertise them. Why? because if people die, it doesn’t matter. There are always new kids growing up to buy the drugs. Hospitals are cropping up everywhere. Medical centers are like McDonald’s on each street corner. Our health care system is costing way too much and it will break at some point.

It is sad when we look at the research I have BLOGged about and understand that health can be improved cheaply and safely by changing our diet, exercising, meditating and thinking positive. You will never see anyone advertise this on national TV. Why? because there is no money in being healthy only in being sick. Imagine a large percentage of our great country suddenly got healthy. The trillion-dollar medical & drug system would lose all that. Do you really think they want that to happen?

These Strange Times Require you to Research Carefully!

I found out from a dear friend that whom fought breast cancer. The first doctor and hospital had her go through chemo for months. Later she switched doctors and found out she should never have had the chemo. It was totally ineffective on her type of cancer. When she questioned the original doctor, he said “That’s water under the dam. Everyone gets the same treatment”. Our hospitals are more interested in the money your treatment can generate than your feelings and health. Research research research! You have to take care of your own health and treatments. You are the only one looking out for your well-being. Question everything, get second and third opinions, research treatments and doctors.

When I used to eat hamburgers, it really wasn’t the meat that made a great burger! It was what you put on it. Pickles, onions (or fried onions), tomato, lettuce, avocado, etc. The combination of flavors created a great sensation. With veggie burgers it’s the same. Build your burger your way and let those great flavors mesh. Many restaurants now offer a veggie burger replacement to meat on any of their burgers. You can get one loaded with what you love. Making your own veggie burger let’s you know exactly what’s in it. Made fresh with fresh ingredients tastes the best. Angie’s Grapevine is a BLOG that has a recipe for a veggie burger, try it!

Light and its Effects on our Health!

SleepDeprivation-1939

The Therapy Book had another great BLOG on how light affects us.  The BLOG says, “A 2001 study revealed that sleep deprivation could lead to insulin resistance, a risk factor for the development of adult onset diabetes. A 2002 study showed chronic sleep deprivation could decrease immune function and make a person more susceptible to infection.” “high levels of cortisol and its precursor, adrenocorticotropic hormone” can lead to stress and lower our immune systems response. Hormones are epigenetic triggers. They trigger genes in each cell that respond to the stimulus. Sometimes this response is good and healthy and sometimes it’s bad and unhealthy. Our bodies are not trying to make us unhealthy only react to our environment.

The Day of The Zombies!

We are a nation of zombies following every commercial on TV or radio. Why are there so many drug commercials? Don’t drug companies sell to doctors? They are selling to us so we accept that this drug will fix this problem even with the horrible side effects (zombies don’t care about side affects they are already dead). We then go and tell our doctors we want that drug. So we are selling the drug to our doctors. How about food? We live on the SAD diet. Standard American Diet and its bad for us. Eating all the junk that makes us sick then we need the drugs that make us sicker. Is anyone else bothered by this cycle? The worst part is that the drugs aren’t even working. If they were we wouldn’t be building more hospitals and medical centers. Take a look we are bulging at the seams, just like our waistlines.

Health care will totally collapse if this continues. The only way to stop it is take our own health into our own hands. Start eating correctly and improve your diet. Tell your doctors you want to get off the drugs as your health improves. Don’t be SAD with your diet be happy and energized by it. You owe it to yourself and your family.Being ill causes the another epigenetic change that will make us sicker … STRESS!

Look at the picture on my BLOG today. Do you really believe Fast Food is the Best? Don’t become a statistic by eating yourself into an early grave. LIVE

Lower Your High Blood Pressure Naturally

BLOOD PRESSURE CHECK

Food Matters on Facebook had an article by a Dr. Mercola on lowering high blood pressure without drugs. He mentions many dietary, exercise related and stress related life changing things you can do to naturally lower your blood pressure. Sound familiar? I talk about diet, stress, exercise , thinking and belief as epigenetic life changing factors in this BLOG. Our bodies evolved to respond to conditions around us. For the last million years or more changes were relatively slow. In modern times we have changed the environment we live in drastically. We exercise less, we are in constant stress, we eat processed foods, we eat the wrong things from a nutrient point of view, we tend more toward negative thoughts than positive ones, and we don’t believe in much lowering the placebo effect and increasing the nocebo effect. This is causing drastic epigenetic changes in our bodies that can lead to increased illness and early death.

Dr Mercola states one source of high blood pressure is a diet rich in grains and fructose. Americans eat way too many grains. Cereals (except oatmeal), sweets, breads, etc are all sugars or turn to sugar in our bodies. Diabetes can be caused by too much sugars in our diet. Diabetes and high blood pressure are linked. The great news is we all have a choice in life. No one is forced to eat wrong or not exercise or live a high stressed life! It’s your choice. We should be changing our life styles and teaching our kids what is really important in life. You can change your lifestyle and live a healthier and happier life. Just do it … NO EXCUSES!

The Human Body is a Living Community

Cell Biology

Cell Biology (Photo credit: ex_magician)

We are made up of more than 10 trillion living cells. That is a huge community. More than all the animals on Earth! Each cell takes in nourishment and raw materials to build things, they excrete waste, they multiply to create a new generation of cells and they make decisions about the environment they find themselves in. They also communicate with each other. These cells are living organisms by any definition. They are grouped into local communities like our skin, heart, lungs, muscles, bones, etc. The whole body is a larger community similar to cities in states in countries. Just like in our cities, when things get back the city deteriorates and can die all together. Our cells can go bad (cancer or disease) and this can proliferate to other cells and harm the local community (heart, lungs, etc) or the whole body (death). Epigenetics allows cells to work on local activities like being a heart or a ling and communicate with other cells in the community and external to it. Epigenetics allows each cell to sample its environment and make decisions on how to react. These decisions can cause us to be healthy or sick. Cells don’t choose to go bad and cause cancer, they try to react to something in the environment and that can cause cancer.

Eat well and healthy, exercise, think positive and believe in life and happiness. Lower your stress through meditation. These simple rules will make you happy, loving and healthy.

Epigenetics – It’s all about the ON & Off of Genes

Epigenetics

Epigenetics (Photo credit: AJC1)

Every once in a while I like to re define epigenetics for my new readers. It literally means above genetics. Epigenetics are influences within the body and external from it that switch genes ON or OFF. This controls our genetics, our bodies as well as our health. Most mammals have very similar genes. So what makes us different from the apes or our cat & dog? It is how those genes are “played”. Epigenetics plays our genes like a piano. Different ways of playing yields different music. Each mammal is like a different song being played. Within our cells, epigenetics determines if a cell is a heart cell, ling cell, bone cell, etc. Once a cell is switched to a particular type, it and it’s descendents will always be that type of cell.

Let’s look at another analogy. Our home TV has many stations we can watch. We switch to a station with our clickers. We can also program child protection by not allowing certain stations to be viewed without a password. Epigenetics is like this. In some cases it switches a gene on (like selecting a TV station). That gene then does something. It can also block a gene from being turned on. That gene can then not do its thing.

We all have almost identical genes. Having a cancer gene is not good or bad. Switching it on can be bad! We all have tumor fighting genes as part of our bodies natural defense system. Having those genes switched off can be bad. These switches can happen from our diets, how we think (positive or negative), and what we believe. The placebo and nocebo effects show how powerful our thinking really is. Stress can also cause genes to be switched ON or OFF.

Even how our parents and grandparents thought and ate can influence us. It turns out we get not only inherited DNA but epigenetics from each parent.

Even Mummies had Clogged Arteries

An article on Yahoo today shows a leading story that mummies had clogged arteries. Most people read this and say to themselves,”See even ancient Egyptians had clogged arteries. I can’t worry about it!” They lead a good and decadent life. They ate a lot of meat. They suffered from the same diseases we do. We shouldn’t read these types of articles and let ourselves off the hook. We make ourselves sick by our life-style. Change your life-style and live healthier. It’s a very simple rule. Eat more of what God and nature gives us and less of what man makes. Eat less animal protein and more vegetable protein. Relax and do meditation. Exercise and stay fit. It really is that simple. Each of these are things you choose to do. Choose correctly and your body will stay healthy.
